Kirk L. Wilcox, affectionately known as “The Duke of Atlanta,” is a dedicated community leader and humanitarian with a deep passion for service. Born and raised in McRae, Georgia, Kirk is a proud alumnus of Albany State University and has called Atlanta home for the past 18 years. With a proven track record of tireless advocacy for individuals experiencing homelessness and the LGBTQIA community, he is committed to empowering youth through education about Atlanta’s rich history and cultural heritage.
A strong champion for public transportation equity, Kirk serves on the MARTA Riders’ Advisory Council, where he works to help shape the future of accessible and reliable transit across the city. His commitment to civic engagement and community uplift is further reflected through his memberships and service with Shriners Shuja Temple 281, Men of D.I.S.T.I.N.C., Inc.,
Saint Philip AME Church, the Union City, Georgia Citizens Academy, and his faithful volunteer work with World Changers Church International Outreach Ministry. Kirk remains steadfast in his mission to drive meaningful change and leave a lasting impact on the city he proudly serves.
