
Keinon Johnson is a highly respected music executive with over two decades of leadership in urban radio promotions and marketing. Born in Atlanta and raised in New York City, he discovered his passion for music and the arts at Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School before launching his music career at Clark Atlanta University through a street team role at Loud Records, supporting artists such as Wu-Tang Clan and Mobb Deep.
Following graduation, Keinon advanced through regional and national promotion roles at Priority Records, MCA Records, and Geffen Records. At Interscope Records, he rose to Executive Vice President of Urban Promotions, where he played a pivotal role in the commercial success of artists including Kendrick Lamar, Glorilla, Summer Walker, and J. Cole. Throughout his career, he has built a proven track record of driving chart-topping singles and contributing to over 100 million album-equivalent units sold globally.
Renowned for blending traditional media strategies with cutting-edge digital and lifestyle marketing, Keinon was instrumental in the mainstream resurgence of R&B, helping to launch the careers of luminaries of the genre Ella Mai, Ari Lennox, and Summer Walker.
Today, Keinon is the Founder and CEO of The Maven Brand, a boutique agency specializing in label services, artist development, strategic marketing consultation, and talent management. Leveraging his extensive industry expertise, The Maven Brand delivers tailored solutions designed to elevate artists and brands in a rapidly evolving music landscape.
Beyond his professional achievements, Keinon serves on the Board of Trustees for the High Museum of Art in Atlanta and previously held a Governor position with the Recording Academy’s Atlanta Chapter (2022–2024).
