Luis Munana, the first Namibian to feature on the Netflix Original reality series “Young, Famous & African,” began his career as a model in South Africa while completing his Finance degree. As a runway model, he participated in prestigious events like World Fashion Week, Mercedes- Benz Fashion Week in Cape Town, Johannesburg, Nigeria, and London. Luis is also a brand ambassador for Pupkewitz Haval.
His impressive portfolio includes commercials for PEPSI, Etisalat (Nigeria), Shield (Europe), TN1 Boxes, and MiFone. In television, Luis has been a host for Yo Music Countdown (Namibia) and is the co-founder and presenter of Voigush Africa. Under Voigush Africa, he has hosted the red carpet at the MTV Base All Africa Awards, Metro FM Awards, and many more.
Luis has also hosted the Namibian Annual Music Awards, Namibia’s Got Talent Show, and the City of Windhoek annual New Year Bash on live TV for three consecutive years.
After representing Namibia in Big Brother Africa’s last edition, Luis Munana founded Windhoek Fashion Week, now MTC Windhoek Fashion Week. He created Namibia’s first puppet cartoon show, Waka Waka Moo, which expanded into a private school, awards show, and kids’ merchandise, airing in the UK, Caribbean Islands, and the
USA.
In 2019, he became the first Namibian in the creative sector listed on Forbes Africa 30 under 30 and was recognized by Forbes Japan. Invited to speak at Oxford University alongside Namibia’s first lady, Luis exemplifies African excellence, with features on CNN and BBC for his outstanding work.
