Phylicia Fant is an influential music and entertainment industry executive whose career spans strategic leadership in record labels, entrepreneurial ownership, and cultural partnerships that bridge artists, brands, and community impact. A proud graduate of Spelman College, Fant began her rise in public relations at Universal Music Group before ascending to senior executive roles at Warner Bros. Records and Columbia Records, where she led global publicity campaigns and urban music initiatives for some of the most iconic artists in contemporary music. In 2008, she launched The Purple Agency, a full-service public relations and lifestyle marketing firm that has driven high-impact work across music, entertainment, and brand partnerships.
In her current role as Global Head of Music Industry & Culture Collaborations at Amazon Music, Fant orchestrates strategic alliances that amplify cultural moments, deepen artist engagement, and connect communities with the power of music. Her visionary leadership has strengthened relationships with cultural institutions, HBCUs, and global brands while cultivating opportunities for artists to expand beyond traditional platforms into film, fashion, and social impact initiatives. Fant’s work reflects a commitment to elevating diverse voices and redefining what success looks like in the music business.
Beyond corporate leadership, Fant is a recognized producer, advisor, and advocate — including her role as executive producer on the documentary Eggs Over Easy: Black Women & Fertility, which explores important social issues within the Black community. She also serves on numerous industry boards and councils, contributing to philanthropic efforts, mentoring emerging professionals, and shaping the future of creative industries through inclusive strategy and cultural collaboration.
