Chanel Hudson-O’Connor has curated a successful career in the entertainment industry as a Seasoned Superstar Publicist & Hollywood Television Producer. With over 12 years of vast industry experience, she has been able to blaze a trail that will transcend to future generations looking to blaze their own trails in Public Relations & Television. Advancing her career in 2012 at a prestigious PR & Marketing firm in Atlanta, GA, she was tasked with managing and coordinating publicity activations for television, film, high profile celebrities, worldwide brands and brand executives. She later resigned from the firm, and set off into the industry to build her own legacy. As a transgender woman of color, Chanel had to adapt in work spaces that aren’t designed for women like her having to sometimes hide who she was by disguise & settling for the crumbs of the bread that often times she brought to the table. She eventually took all of the crumbs, and built her own agency and has successfully been able to curate targeted results for a diverse roster of clientele; both In the private & public sector of business & entertainment.
She later used her experience in television & film publicity, to launch her own production company “The CHE’ Production Group” in 2021. One year after the launch of her production company, Chanel became the first transgender woman of color to Executive Produce a major crime documentary for television. Her involvement in developing & executive producing Casey Anthony:Where the Truth Lies currently on Peacock/NBC Universal, has opened the doors of television in Hollywood for other transgender men & women of color to develop unique stories that speak to their lived experiences and to give smothered voices a safe, clear, and objective space to speak. The production company also developed & launched “Boy Meets Woman:The Podcast” which is an intimate story-time podcast that chronicles the life of a boy who met the woman he became as told by The Icon Chanel. In 2023, Chanel continues her journey in television by developing original tv show concepts and working with other industry creators & producers to develop and produce original concepts. In addition to her continued work in television, Chanel continues to represent & professionally advise Top Brand CEO’s, Reality TV & Industry Talent,TV Networks, Record Label Executives & Brands that she feels can benefit from her professional counsel and unconventional execution strategies that always render a specific targeted result.
